When this couple first reached out, they shared something that had been on their hearts for years—a desire to create a more welcoming space, one that would feel inviting and allow them to host the people they love. With no children at home, their dream was meaningful yet straightforward: to have a room where they could gather, share meals, and host weekly Bible studies in a space that truly reflected their lifestyle.
When they first moved into their apartment, much of their furniture had been generously given to them—pieces with sentimental value, but not well suited to the space. Oversized and mismatched, the layout felt crowded and underutilized, making it difficult to host the way they had envisioned. They asked me to take a look at the kitchen, dining, and living areas together, and through our Conceptual Design & Moodboard service, we began to reimagine the space with purpose and intention.
During our consultation, I noticed her love for plants, though many were scattered throughout the space without a clear sense of cohesion. As someone who values incorporating nature into my design concepts, I made it a priority to bring these elements into the overall vision. Through thoughtful placement and complementary furnishings, we were able to highlight her greenery in a way that felt organic and seamlessly integrated with the rest of the home.
With a new layout and carefully selected pieces, the space began to transform. A larger dining table now invites weekly gatherings with ease, and new living room furnishings offer comfort and flow without overwhelming the room. Lighting fixtures were also a key part of the design, visually tying the spaces together while adding a soft, warm ambiance ideal for evening hosting.
The result is a home that now feels intentional, calm, and truly ready to welcome others in. Their friends have loved the changes, and more importantly, the couple feels at ease in a space that finally reflects their values: hospitality, connection, and comfort. What began as a long-held hope is now a place that truly feels like home.
